- Human Connection and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) in Sport Module
Description
This online tutor-led module aims to upskill and increase the knowledge of practitioners who are working with young people in a sport and physical activity environment on the importance of human connection and the relationship between ACEs and sport and physical activity.
Learning outcomes:
- Explore GIRFEC and SHANNARI and the importance of these modules in a sporting context
- Understand what ACEs are and how they affect individuals
- Explore the role a coach can play supporting an individual through the rupture, repair, relate cycle
- Understand the key principles for adopting a trauma informed practice in a sporting session
Time to complete: 4 hours
Can be delivered as one session or 2 x 2 hour sessions depending on preference.
This module forms part of Scottish Sports Futures Education through Cashback (ETC) training and accreditation programme:
Target Group
Up to 12 participants
Age 16+
Can be delivered across Scotland to a wide range of audiences, however it may be of particular interest to those working / volunteering within a sport or youth work setting.
